Indian Skin & Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation : My Thoughts

I am beginning this blog post with a disclaimer that I am not a makeup artist neither an expert; as mentioned in a previous post I am starting a new make up journey and after getting my Real Techniques brushes together, I went for the ever popular Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation.

Now, it is a bit of a struggle matching foundations & concealers here in the UK if you have warm/ olive toned skin! Is it just me or its very overwhelming selecting the right shade? Let me know! Anyhow, I went for the shade 200 soft beige and I think it's a pretty decent match.

I am not a full coverage kinda gal so this works for me - light to medium coverage that you can build up. I use about 1 & a half pump, then buff it in with my Real techniques buffing brush. The trick is to take your time with the buffing.

SPF 15 makes it ideal for day time wear. The foundation has tiny flecks of subtle shimmer that don't really show up in photographs. And I really love the brightening and illuminating effect this has on the skin.

Pros
Budget buy
SPF 15
Buildable
Light to medium coverage
Radiant glow

Cons
Limited shades available if you are medium to warm toned
Not Full coverage- If full coverage is what you desire then you have to slather on a lot of the product which in my opinion is never a good idea.

Camel Duster Coat

It's all about that coat, bout that coat...

Nothing shouts street style the way a maxi statement duster coat does. Slouchy duster coasts have had a major moment this season and this beauty is a fairly recent buy from a store called Minx in Enfield, England. Unfortunately, they don't have it website :(

I absolutely love the fact that it is camel or beige and pretty much goes with everything! For this look I wanted my coat to be the focal point so I have left everything else black or navy.

Though it is not uber warm, it does the job and rather stylishly.

Massive Kiko Milano Sale

On friday afternoon as I was out and about in Central London (a very rare occurance), I found my way to the Kiko Milano Regent Street store and was pleasantly surprised. Kiko is already an affordable quality makeup & skincare brand but a further rather generous discount makes the deal many times sweeter.

On my way to meet a friend and pressed on time, I literally had 5 minutes in the store! But these palettes instantly caught my eye and I picked up the Street Glam Eyeshadow & Eyeliner  Palette 02 for £5 down from £14.90. I mean look at these colours they are just so damn pretty. The first impression is very good - I love the sleek packaging and a full mirror inside is always useful. I've only used the black bit to line my eyes and I really like the smoky-smudged finished effect.

I think I m definitely going to make another trip to the store or just head on to their website to place an online order while the sale lasts!

I will do a review on this soon but today I am just enjoying this pretty palette view on my dressing table! Happy styling xo

Phytorelax Laboratories Olio di Argan Exfoliating Body Scrub: Review

Its peak winter and my skin suffers from extreme dryness to the extent that I need to really oil (yes OIL) or slather on dollops of moisturiser all over more than twice a day.

I was looking for a weekly bath time treat product when I stumbled across this Phytorelax scrub at my local TK Maxx.

The scrub is AMAZING for various reasons. First of all, it doesn't feel like you are putting on any chemical/plastic/cosmetic elements; feels like goodness straight from the lap of nature.

It's all things soothing, calming and relaxing rolled into one. Loaded with sea salt, argan oil, sweet almond and thyme oil amongst other ingredients; it smells really fresh. I can go without moisturising my skin for a whole day after using this scrub. And that is BIG!

If you have oily skin, this might be too much for you but if you suffer from extreme dry spells, this product is wonderful. Also, the scrub is so rich it can make the surface of your bath slippery so you ought to be careful.

It comes with a teeny tiny spatula meant for mixing the salt with oil before scrubbing. However, I find it rather useless; I prefer digging in with my hands instead.

If you can get your hands on this product, I would totally recommend it!
